Consultation and Psychotherapy
Our first 1-4 meetings are a consultation at the end of which I make a treatment recommendation tailored to your particular needs. When appropriate, and with your permission, I consult with your medical providers (e.g. primary care physician, psychiatrist or psychopharmacologist) to coordinate treatment.

Once treatment has begun I meet with most clients one time per week, or when appropriate, twice weekly. I work with some clients in a time-limited way while others prefer open-ended treatment. The most appropriate treatment will be discussed during the initial consultation.

Supervision/Case Consultation
In addition to psychotherapy, I offer supervision and case consultation to other clinicians.  I provide guidance in many areas of practice including but not limited to: treating trauma survivors, EMDR, transference/counter-transference, non-oppressive approaches to treatment and building a private practice.

Fees & Insurance
Fees will be discussed during our initial consultation. You may also contact me directly in advance with any questions concerning fees and insurance. I am an in-network provider for the Columbia University Aetna Student Health insurance but do not accept other insurance at this time. Outside of the Columbia University Aetna Student Health plan I do not bill insurance companies directly, but if you have a PPO or another plan that allows you to select an out-of-network provider, you may be eligible for reimbursement depending on what your plan allows. While you are responsible for payment at the time of service, I can provide you with a statement to submit to your insurance company.

Insurance benefits (e.g. deductibles, co-payments, and the number of sessions covered per calendar year) can vary significantly according to your plan and employer. Your employer may also revise your benefits during the course of treatment. For this reason, I recommend verifying the extent of your out-of-network mental health (aka “behavioral health”) benefits prior to consultation as well as tracking any changes in coverage regularly thereafter.
